Terms/Conditions/Release of Liability
Ragdoll Rehoming Journey believes that all pets should be kept indoors. The animals we place for adoption must not be allowed to roam outside due to the risks of injury from vehicles, encounters with other animals, or the spread of disease. The adopter is required to provide a pet carrier or crate large enough for the animal to stand up and turn around comfortably.
RAGDOLL REHOMING JOURNEY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO RECLAIM ANY PET THAT IS FOUND CHAINED OR TIED UP, ABUSED, NEGLECTED, OR NOT PROPERLY CARED FOR.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: I release Ragdoll Rehoming Journey, its Board of Directors, volunteers, foster volunteers, and representatives, as well as any veterinarians treating the animal at the request of Ragdoll Rehoming Journey, from any and all claims and actions. This includes claims for property damage caused by the animal(s) or personal injury to myself, family members, any other individuals, and any other animals (including personal pets, livestock, or other animals) resulting from biting, scratching, transmission of disease, or any other issues related to the animal(s).
MEDICAL RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Ragdoll Rehoming Journey will not be responsible for any medical expenses for your pet after adoption unless previously arranged at the time of adoption.
I/We Further Understand and Agree:
1. To return the cat to Ragdoll Rehoming Journey (RRJ) if I am unable to keep the cat. I will not abandon the cat or surrender, sell, or transfer the cat to a shelter, pet dealer, or laboratory.
2. To notify RRJ if the cat is lost or stolen and to make all reasonable efforts to locate the cat.
3. To treat this cat with affection and kindness as a family pet, ensuring it is never subjected to abuse or cruelty.
4. To provide regular veterinary care, including annual vaccinations and parasite checks.
5. To ensure the cat is not transported unconfined in a vehicle.
6. To regularly check the fit of any collar and to attach any required licenses and tags.
7. To allow RRJ to conduct follow-up calls and/or visits.
8. To contact RRJ, a veterinarian, or an obedience trainer if problems arise, so that they can be addressed or resolved.
I/We Further Understand and Agree That:
1. Non-compliance with any of the above terms and conditions may result in the immediate forfeiture of the cat, and RRJ may reclaim the cat without compensation to me/us.
2. RRJ has explained the typical characteristics and temperament of the pet.
3. RRJ has advised me/us that the cat may exhibit behaviors such as digging, chewing, soiling, and other undesirable traits if not properly supervised, confined, and trained.
4. RRJ has provided all necessary information to make an informed decision regarding the adoption of this cat.
In consideration of adopting this cat, I/we agree to assume full responsibility for the cat’s behavior from the date of this contract. I/we also agree to hold harmless Ragdoll Rehoming Journey, its board of directors, officers, volunteers, and any associated individuals, and to indemnify these parties for any damages or costs resulting from the cat’s conduct after the date of this adoption contract.
I have read and understood the terms of this application and the adoption agreement. By signing below, I certify that the information provided in this application is accurate. Any misrepresentation of facts may result in losing the privilege of adopting a pet through Ragdoll Rehoming Journey in the future and the forfeiture of this cat. By signing, I also agree to all the terms set forth by Ragdoll Rehoming Journey in this application.
