  • Adoptions are processed on a first-come, first-served basis through our online portal. The adoption process begins at 11 a.m.
  • Once you’ve found a pet you’re interested in, click on their profile and fill out the adoption application online. If you have a specific animal in mind, please include their ID# in your application. Adopt a Cat
  • Our adoption team will review your application and contact you regarding the next steps in the process.
  • Please note that during fee-waived adoption events, there may be high demand, so we recommend submitting your application promptly.
  • We do not hold pets for potential adopters, so it’s essential to complete the adoption process as soon as possible to secure your chosen pet.
  • For the safety and comfort of our shelter animals, we do not allow in-shelter cat-to-cat introductions. Instead, we provide guidance on proper introductions outside the shelter environment to ensure a successful transition for both your new pet and any existing pets at home.

We reserve the right to approve all adoptions, as we are committed to both the welfare of the animals in our care and meeting your personal needs.

All cats in our catteries receive the following care and services, which are included in the adoption fee:

– Spay (for females) or neuter (for males)
– Microchip
– Testing for feline leukemia and feline AIDS
– FVRCP (upper respiratory/distemper) vaccine
– Rabies vaccine
– De-worming with a broad-spectrum prescription wormer that also treats tapeworms
– Treatment for fleas
– Examination and treatment for ear mites if necessary
– Free veterinary wellness exam

We provide exceptional care for the animals in our custody and make a reasonable effort to ensure that the kittens and cats are healthy when adopted. However, Ragdoll Rehoming Journey is not responsible for any veterinary bills or treatments required after the cat leaves our care. Adopt a Cat

Bonded Pairs

Occasionally, we receive cats that arrive together and are closely bonded. In such cases, we may designate them as a bonded pair and aim to adopt them together. To facilitate this, the adoption fee for bonded pairs may be reduced. If they have not been adopted together after a significant period, they may be considered for separate adoption. Adopt a Cat

Single Kitten Policy

Our policy is to adopt out single kittens aged 6 months or younger only if there is already another suitable young playmate (feline or canine) in the home. Adopting two kittens at the same time promotes healthy behaviors and happiness, as they learn and grow together. To encourage this, we offer a discount for adopting two kittens or cats simultaneously. If you can only commit to one cat, we can introduce you to kittens over 6 months of age who are seeking their forever homes. Many adopters who were initially hesitant about adopting two kittens later express their gratitude for following this policy. The benefits of adopting two are significant, and we’ve yet to have an adopter regret not choosing a single kitten. Adopt a Cat

Adopters Welcome

Here at Ragdoll Rehoming Journey, we embrace an inclusive approach to pet adoption, inspired by the ‘Adopters Welcome’ philosophy coined by The Humane Society of the United States. We aim to eliminate barriers and welcome all members of our community to adopt by removing outdated requirements such as:

  •  No landlord checks or HOA checks
  • Pet-friendly policies for apartments and condos
  • No house checks

Our adoption counselors prioritize education on responsible pet ownership, striving to empower potential adopters with the knowledge they need to provide a loving and supportive home for their new pet. We believe in removing unnecessary barriers that may deter individuals from considering adoption, thus increasing the chances of finding loving homes for more pets in need. Adopt a Cat

While we strive to facilitate adoptions for every interested individual, we reserve the right to deny an adoption if it is determined, after thorough discussion, that it may not be in the best interest of the pet or the adopter. In such cases, we will work with the adopter to explore alternative options that align with the best interests of both the pet and the individual. Adopt a Cat

At Ragdoll Rehoming Journey, we are committed to creating positive and successful adoption experiences for both pets and adopters, guided by compassion, understanding, and a dedication to finding the perfect match for each pet in need of a forever home. Adopt a Cat
